What Do I Need to Start My Driving Lessons?

Before starting your driving lessons, you must have a valid learner permit. To obtain a permit, you need to apply and pass your theory test. We recommend contacting the RSA (Road Safety Authority) for the theory test application form. Once you have a valid permit, you can begin your driving lessons with us.

How Many Driving Lessons Do I Need?

The number of lessons you need depends on your individual progress and learning pace. Some learners grasp driving concepts quickly, while others may require more time. On average, most learners benefit from 35 to 45 hours of lessons before being ready for a driving test. Practicing outside of lessons is also recommended.

Do I Need to Do Essential Driver Training (EDT)?

If your first learner permit for a car is dated on or after April 4th, 2011, you are required to complete EDT (Essential Driver Training). EDT must be completed before you can sit for a driving test.
